About the training
This online training introduces the foundations of intermodal expressive arts (EXA). Across three weekend intensives, you will learn through hands-on creative experiences, guided reflection and small group practice.
You will explore how the creative process can deepen presence, support emotional regulation and open new ways of making meaning, whether your work happens in a therapy room, a classroom, a coaching session or a community space.
Participants will explore
Foundations of expressive arts therapy and intermodal practice
Creative interventions for individuals and groups
Process-oriented facilitation and the role of the witness
Trauma-informed and ethically grounded use of expressive methods
Embodied awareness and presence in your work
Bringing expressive arts into the approach you already use
Our creative journey
During this training you will:
Experience intermodal expressive arts practices through guided individual and group activities
Explore the foundational concepts, history and principles of expressive arts therapy
Discuss trauma-informed and ethically grounded use of expressive methods
Reconnect with your own creative process and embodied presence
Expressive arts is not as scary as it sounds. You do not need to be an artist to join. This training is grounded in process over product.
Learn adaptable creative interventions you can bring into your own work
Practice facilitating process-oriented creative experiences in a supportive space
Reflect on how expressive arts can complement your current approach

We ask that everyone have one extra-large mixed media journal to use across all three weekends. It becomes a space for reflections, images and creative explorations that come up during the training.
You do not need to be an artist. Curiosity and a willingness to explore matter much more than skill.
